All adults are welcome, no matter their previous drawing or painting experience.
Join my workshop to learn and advance watercolor painting skills. Watercolor is relaxing and a great way to become more observant, creative and mindful. Located at Dabble Seattle! A creative space in the heart of Greenwood. We meet once a week either on Monday evening.
I am an illustrator, artist, designer and educator who loves to inspire others to be creative.
I will teach you how to mix your own color, values, technique, tools, process, rendering styles, lighting and composition to develop your confidence in watercolor painting. For intermediate level you will expand on your color, technique and compositional understanding.
Class 1: Paint a color wheel using the three modern primary colors. You will have time to practice drawing and apply your color mixing skills. I will demonstrate how to work with watercolor paint to develop your palette. Intermediate level: Values study or Simultaneous contrast study.
Class 2: Practice techniques, wet in wet and glazing. Play and experiment to get comfortable with watercolor effects. I will demonstrate the painting process and give one on one help. You will choose from an array of in season plants to paint. Intermediate options.
Class 3: Learn about lighting and form, use layering techniques and neutrals to create highlight, mid tone and shadow to create three dimensional paintings.
Class 4: Composition and background color, use your new skills to create a cohesive painting.
Cost: $200 for four, 2 hr. classes
I will provide professional level paint, paper and a simple palette. Minimal supply investment of around $20 for brush and a suggestion to purchase a travel palette to hold your paint. Intermediate level bring your palette.
