Once you have explored beginning watercolor bests practices you are ready for this all day immersive class. I recommend you take one of my Seasonal Watercolor Workshops or have some basic watercolor knowledge before taking this class. We will review watercolor fundamentals and use these skills to deep dive into color theory, color mixing, color usage and beyond. I teach Color Theory at the university level and love the use of color through watercolor painting. You will create many watercolor paintings as you enjoy the understanding of pure hues, tones, tints, colors that create unique effects together and beyond. Color is a fascinating subject! Color studies will increase your color confidence and are enjoyable and beautiful on their own. Reach out with any questions!
10 AM - 12 PM: Overview, Introductions, Watercolor Fundamentals, Mixing Colors, The Magic of Color and Watercolor. Create beautiful color studies.
60 Minute Break
12:30- 4 PM: Color combinations, Neutrals for the Natural World, Value Studies to understand light and color. Choose from provided natural objects to compose, explore and paint a final painting.
I provide paper, natural references for painting, masking fluid, some specialized paint for neutrals and value studies. please bring a brush, palette and watercolor paints (I will provide a list of recommended paints if you do not have any).
