Marbling: Creating Pattern and Flow on Water - Learn how to float color on water, create beautiful patterns using combs and stylus tools, and pull your own one-of-a-kind marbled prints on paper. Each student will have their own marbling tray (9" x 12") and a selection of tools, paints and pre-alumed papers ready to use.
We’ll cover the essentials—how I prepared the water, paper and paint. I demonstrate how to pull a vivid prints—before diving into guided experimentation with color, rhythm, and design. You’ll leave class with a collection of finished marbled papers, perfect for framing, card making, bookbinding, box making, collage and other keepsake or gift ideas.
All materials (sized water bath, pre treated paints, pre treated paper, stylus, rakes, combs) are provided and prepped in advance. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and creativity!
First hour: Introductions, why marbling paper is fascinating, demonstration, prepare your first design.
Second hour: Practice techniques, explore both historic and contemporary styles.
Third hour: Final designs, explore ideas for using marbled paper. Clean up.
Cost: $175
I will provide professional level vibrant pre-treated paint, pre-treated paper and a prepared liquid bath. Each student can create up to 12 total, 8.5" x 11".
