Learn how to float color on water, create beautiful patterns using combs and stylus tools, and make your own one-of-a-kind marbled prints on paper.
We’ll cover the essentials before diving into guided experimentation with color, rhythm, and design. You’ll leave class with a collection of finished marbled papers, perfect for framing as art, card making, gift wrapping, box making, collage and other keepsake gift ideas.
All materials are provided and prepped in advance. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and creativity!
I will provide professional level vibrant pre-treated paint, pre-treated paper and a prepared liquid bath. Each student can create up to 12 total, 8.5" x 11".
First hour: Introductions, learn the fascinating history of marble print making, demonstration, prepare your first design. Create prints using Sumi ink.
Second hour: Choose colors for printing. Create beautiful color prints using acrylic paints. Practice techniques, explore both historic and contemporary styles.
Third hour: Continue exploring techniques, review options for using marbled papers.
Cost: $175
